BRANXHOLM PARK HOUSE, Scotland
This wedding left me riding a high for days afterwards—in the best possible way. J & M are the kind of couple who light up everything around them; full of personality, effortlessly fun, and completely genuine in every sense. The kind of energy that’s impossible not to be swept up in—especially when it comes with a shared love of the outdoors, a sense of adventure, and a real joy for celebrating it all.
I travelled up to the Scottish Borders to the beautiful Branxholm Park House, a secluded venue set on a hillside and surrounded by trees. It’s the kind of setting that feels quietly special from the moment you arrive—peaceful, atmospheric, and modern.
The house
Branxholm Park House offers such a beautiful sense of variety, with a collection of thoughtfully designed spaces both inside and out. The house itself becomes the heart of the celebration—hosting the wedding breakfast, the party, and all those lively, joy-filled moments in between.
Tucked just away from the main house is a separate ceremony space—small, atmospheric, and wonderfully intimate. With its darker tones and cocooned feel, it creates the perfect setting for a more personal, quietly meaningful exchange of vows.
The Couple
These two were made are the definition of pure love and of how two individuals can be totally themselves, and still somehow work perfectly together. J & M had guests from all over the world come to celebrate their day with them, and it was such a treat capturing them all, from getting ready right through to the party at the end of the day.
The CEREMONY
The room was filled with such a genuine sense of love and appreciation for these two—it was something you could really feel. As part of the ceremony, they included a beautiful ring warming tradition, where each guest held the rings for a moment, quietly passing on their well wishes, love, and positive energy. In such an intimate setting, the whole experience felt even more meaningful. Watching the rings move gently from hand to hand around the room was incredibly special.
The Portraits
The grounds couldn’t have been more perfect for those beautifully natural moments— lots of light, open space, and just the right pace to let everything unfold. And one of my favourite memories from the day—the dancing impalas! The groomsmen fully committed to the moment, throwing themselves into the smoke shots with so much energy and fun.
Just when it felt like the day was gently drawing to a close, the sunset made its entrance, giving us the most incredible final window for portraits. Washes of orange and pink moved into a deep, cinematic blue hour—one of my favourite times to create those moodier, more romantic images.
The WEDDING BREAKFAST & PARTY
J & M had thought of everything, right down to the smallest, most meaningful details. Each guest found a personal note waiting at their place—little memories of how they’d met, shared moments, and inside stories. It set the tone so beautifully for the evening.
The speeches followed suit—warm, funny, and full of heart—before the night unfolded in true Scottish style with a lively ceilidh. The perfect kind of celebration to round off such an unforgettable day - so much fun from start to finish!
