FAQ's

Planning a wedding is an investment of your time, energy and heart. Every detail is carefully considered to create an unforgettable experience—not just for you, but for everyone sharing the day with you. My role is to make the photography experience feel just as seamless, thoughtful and enjoyable, from your very first enquiry through to the moment your beautifully curated gallery arrives.

Long after the flowers have faded and the music has stopped, your photographs become one of the few tangible ways you'll relive your wedding day. Choosing the right photographer is about so much more than loving their images—it's about finding someone whose approach, values and personality feel like the right fit for you.

To help you decide whether we're the perfect match, I've put together some answers to the questions I’m most often asked, along with a little insight into how I work. My hope is that this gives you complete clarity, sets expectations from the outset, and helps you feel confident about every step of the journey.

If, after reading through everything, you feel a connection with my work and the way I approach weddings, I'd love to hear more about your plans.

WILL YOU SHARE FULL WEDDING GALLERIES?

Absolutely. I believe it's important for you to see exactly what a complete wedding story looks like, not just a curated portfolio. I'm always happy to share a selection of full galleries so you can experience how I document an entire wedding day—from the quiet moments of anticipation through to the celebrations long into the evening.

ARE YOU A FULL TIME PHOTOGRAPHER?

Yes. Wedding photography has been my full-time profession since 2018, and it remains a genuine privilege to document such meaningful moments for my couples.

Before becoming a full-time photographer, I worked as both a teacher and a sports events organiser. Those experiences shaped the calm, organised and adaptable approach I bring to every wedding day—helping everything run smoothly while allowing you to simply enjoy the moment.

Alongside weddings, I also photograph maternity and family sessions, giving many of my couples the opportunity to continue their story with me as their families grow.

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?

Without hesitation—yes.

Although I'm based in the beautiful Cotswolds, I photograph weddings throughout the UK and internationally. I also hold EU citizenship, making travel across Europe straightforward and hassle-free.

Whether you're planning an intimate countryside celebration, a city wedding or a destination weekend abroad, I'd love to hear more about your plans.

DO YOU HELP US WITH OUR TIMELINE?

Absolutely. Having photographed weddings for many years, I'm always happy to help you build a timeline that allows everything to flow naturally while giving us the best possible light for your photographs. A little planning beforehand makes a huge difference on the day.

WE DON'T DON'T ENJOY HAVING OUR PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN. WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?

Not at all—in fact, this is one of the things couples tell me most often.

My approach is relaxed, unobtrusive and centred around making you feel completely at ease. Rather than asking you to perform for the camera, I gently guide you when needed while allowing the day to unfold naturally.

Many couples choose to include a pre-wedding session, which is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know each other before the wedding and helps you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera.

For most of the day, you'll barely notice I'm there. My aim is to quietly document genuine moments while creating beautiful, natural portraits that never feel forced. Even if you're convinced you're not photogenic, I promise you'll be amazed by how comfortable—and how much you enjoy—the experience.

HOW WILL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOGRAPHS?

Your images will be delivered in a beautifully presented private online gallery, where you can view, download and share your photographs with ease.

Every image is provided in both high-resolution format for printing and a web-sized version for sharing online. You can share the entire gallery with your guests, or if you prefer, I can create a separate guest gallery while keeping your personal favourites private.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE OUR GALLERY?

I know how exciting it is to relive your wedding, so you'll receive a curated preview gallery within 24 hours.

Your complete gallery will then be delivered within four weeks, fully edited and presented in your private online gallery.

HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHS WILL WE RECEIVE?

Every wedding is different, but you can generally expect around 600–900 carefully edited images from a full-day wedding. Rather than working towards a specific number, my focus is on telling the complete story of your day beautifully.

DO YOU PROVIDE THE UNEDITED RAW FILES?

Your gallery includes the carefully curated, professionally edited high-resolution JPEG images that reflect my signature style and the quality of work you see throughout my portfolio.

RAW files are the unprocessed working files captured by the camera and are not included as part of my collections. However, if you would like to purchase them, they are available for a flat fee of £500.

HOW DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS?

Creating timeless imagery is at the heart of my work.

My editing is refined, natural and true to life, with subtle film-inspired tones that will feel just as beautiful decades from now as they do today. Rather than following trends, I focus on creating photographs with lasting elegance.

I believe in documenting people authentically, so I don't dramatically reshape bodies, alter facial features or create moments that didn't happen. Small temporary distractions—such as a blemish or an accidental mark—will always be discreetly removed where appropriate.

The result is a gallery that feels polished, honest and unmistakably you.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I photograph weddings using professional Canon camera systems, premium lenses and a carefully curated collection of analogue film cameras. Every wedding is photographed with fully backed-up equipment, and I always carry multiple professional camera bodies and lenses to ensure complete reliability throughout your day. Ultimately, it's experience, anticipation and storytelling - not equipment - that create meaningful photographs.

HOW ARE OUR PHOTOGRAPHS BACKED UP?

Protecting your memories is something I take incredibly seriously.

Every digital photograph is captured simultaneously onto two memory cards throughout your wedding day. As soon as I return home, your images are backed up to multiple secure locations before editing even begins.

Both the original RAW files and your finished gallery are safely archived for a minimum of two years, and your online gallery will remain available for you to access whenever you need it.

That said, I always recommend downloading your images and keeping your own backup for complete peace of mind.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY AND CAN'T MAKE IT?

In the extremely unlikely event that I am unable to photograph your wedding due to illness or an emergency, I have a trusted professional photographer who can step in on my behalf.

This isn't part of my business model - I don't routinely send associate photographers to weddings, and every couple books with the expectation that I will personally be there. Should the unexpected happen, your wedding would still be photographed to the highest standard, and I would personally edit every image in my signature style, ensuring your final gallery remains consistent with the work you fell in love with.

DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?

I photograph the majority of weddings on my own, allowing me to work discreetly and consistently throughout the day. For larger celebrations or weddings with multiple locations, a second photographer can be added if needed.

HAVE YOU PHOTOGRAPHED AT OUR WEDDING BEFORE?

Not always—and that's absolutely no problem.

With years of experience photographing weddings in a wide variety of venues and lighting conditions, I'm confident in quickly finding the best locations, the most flattering light and the perfect backdrop for your photographs.

Whenever possible, I'll visit your venue beforehand or arrive early on the day to familiarise myself with the surroundings, ensuring everything runs seamlessly.

DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE A MEAL?

While it's never expected, it is always very much appreciated.

Most venues offer supplier meals, so if you would like to provide one, please let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly.

I usually eat while you're enjoying your wedding breakfast, as this is the natural pause in the day when very little photography is needed. By the time you've finished your meal, I'll be ready to continue documenting the celebrations without missing a moment.

WHEN DO YOU TAKE BREAKS?

I plan any short breaks around the natural flow of your wedding day, always choosing moments when very little is happening.

Whenever possible, I'll take a brief break while you're enjoying your meal, allowing me to return refreshed and ready for the speeches, evening celebrations and everything that follows.

You'll never need to think about my schedule - I quietly manage it around yours.

WHAT DOES YOUR PRICING INCLUDE?

Every collection includes far more than simply the hours I'm present on your wedding day. You're investing in years of experience, thoughtful planning, professional editing, careful image curation and a seamless experience from your initial enquiry through to the delivery of your gallery. For details, take a look at this page.

Any short breaks I take are included within your booked coverage and are planned carefully so they never impact the storytelling of your day. Aside from those brief moments, you'll find me fully immersed in documenting your celebration—and I genuinely love every minute of it.

CAN WE ORDER ALBUMS?

Yes. I offer beautifully handcrafted fine art albums, designed to become treasured family heirlooms. Albums can be included in your collection or ordered after your wedding once you've had time to enjoy your gallery.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes. I carry full public liability and professional indemnity insurance. If your venue requires documentation, I'm always happy to provide it.

WHAT IF OUR WEDDING RUNS BEHIND SCHEDULE?

Weddings rarely run exactly to time - and that's completely normal.

If the day slips behind, I'm not watching the clock. My priority is ensuring your story is captured in full, so you won't need to worry about missing important moments because timings changed.

From the excitement of getting ready through to the celebrations after your first dance, I'll be there to document your day as it naturally unfolds.

HOW DO WE BOOK?

I'd be delighted to hear more about your plans.

Simply complete my enquiry form and I'll be in touch to arrange a relaxed chat, either in person or online, so we can get to know each other and discuss your wedding in more detail.

If we both feel we're the perfect fit, I'll send over your booking agreement along with an invoice for the 30% non-refundable retainer, which secures your date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your wedding.

From there, I'll be on hand throughout your planning journey whenever you need advice, guidance or recommendations.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

I completely understand that sometimes plans change and unexpected circumstances can arise.

To ensure every couple receives my full attention, I accept only a limited number of weddings each year. Once your date is secured, I decline all other enquiries for that day.

Full details of my cancellation policy are included in your booking agreement. If your plans do change, please get in touch as soon as possible and I'll always do my best to help wherever I can.
